Biography

PFC Hambley was born in Lindon, Colorado but lived and grew up in Arvada, Colorado.  In 1940 he was a member of the Arvada High track team.  He enlisted in California and served in the Army, 17th Infantry Regiment.  PFC Hambley was killed in action in Okinawa.

 

When his remains returned in 1949 for burial at Riverside Cemetery in Denver, the Rocky Mountain News confirms he was from Arvada, KIA on 6/24/1945 in Okinawa.

 

PFC Hambley is the  father of David and Mary Jo Hambley, son of Mrs. Josie Hambley, brother of James D. and Wayne A. Hambley, Mrs. Patrick McCarty and Mrs. Gail Karr (Source:  Olinger Mortuary Obituary).
