Son of Edward Charles and Mary Elizabeth Mann Yust, brother of Charles H., Henry, Edward and Will J. Yust, Mrs. W.O. Howe of Troublesome, Colorado, Dorothy Yust and Georgia Yust Jones and brother-in-law of Corporal Richard E. Jones. Member Battery D, 341st Field Artillery. Died while training of pneumonia brought on after having measles. Born on the Yust Ranch south of Kremmling and son of Summit and Grand County pioneers. According to Summit County Journal "Carter Yust was one of the well-known young men of Middle Park. He had traveled extensively during his youth and had seen more of the world than most young men of the county. After returning home he lived on his father's ranch until he joined the National Army with the first quota of Grand county's soldiers last summer."
