Graduated from Golden High School in 2001 and joined the Army in September, 2007. He was assigned to the 3rd squadron, 61st Calvary Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. He was wounded during an attack at Outpost Bari Alai, Afghanistan. He is survived by his wife, and son. Sgt Wichmann was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart in addition to other military honors.
