Biography
Veteran of World War II as navigator/bombardier of 73rd Bomb Squadron. In Korean War was member of 830th Bomb Squadron, 509th Bomb Wing. C-124 aircraft enroute to Mildenhall RAFB, carrying him and 52 other airmen ditched in North Atlantic. Awarded Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Asia-Pacific Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
Circumstances
Unknown. The C-124 He Was On Was Sabatoged By Two An-M50 Series Incindiary Bombs. The Aircraft Was Forced To Ditch. All Hands Survived And Were Spotted In Life Rafts, Then Disappeared.
