Brother of Charlotte L., Florence S., Margaret, James L., Harold M., Grace M., Julia B., and Edith W. Scilley. Graduated Loveland High School in 1916 where he was captain of the school's football team. Married Helen Muroe June 18, 1918. Served at McArthur, Texas. Killed with 10 other Coloradans along with 19 Coloradans injured in train wreck in largest single day non-combat loss of troops in Colorado history.
