He died from non-combat-related causes, July 7 Baghdad, Iraq. Barry had crisscrossed the world in his 15 years in the Army, but was never happier than he was with his family. He was in Germany before being transferred to Fort Campbell, Ky. Then two weeks after arriving at the base, he was off to Iraq. Sanford was a super guy who was happy just playing with his two daughters.
