While on combat mission aircraft hit by anti-aircraft fire, explosed and crashed a half mile northwest of Ultin. Awarded Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and Republic of Korea Service Medal.
