Biography

James F O'Brien served as a Private First Class in Company I, 357th Infantry, 90th Division. He was one of the first Americans to land on the Normandy beachhead on June 6, 1944, D-Day. He was killed in action six days later in France and awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.
