Known commonly as "Skeeter". Moved to El Paso, Texas in 1912 to work as advertising solicitor for El Paso Herald. Lived in Butte, Montana by 1917 when he was working for Western Union, transferring that year to Los Angeles. Returned to Denver and enlisted.
