Son of Clarence and Nanna Perdue Hern. Member 10th Troop Carrier Group, 308th T.C. Squadron, Fort Benning, Georgia. Killed with C-47 Skytrain Number:41-18566 crashed 12 miles west of Lawson Field at Fort Benning, which also claimed the lives of 2nd Lt. Melvin J. Jenkinson, Cpl. Vincent J. Faggione, and Cpl. Edward H. Jolly.
