Related to Dr. D.M. Guiteras of Denver. Member Engineers Corps. Graduated Columbia University class of 1913. Worked at Cadillac Motor Car Company in Detriot where he learned applied mechanics and became draftsman in their electrical department. In October 1915 went to Hall-Scott Motor Car Company of West Berkeley, California as draftsman designing and testing aviation engines and propellers. Joined Army in January 1917. Trained at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Received 1st Lieutenant's commission and sent to Vancouver Barracks, Washington from which he was sent to France in December 1917 promoted to Captain. While in France was instructor in pioneering in the Pioneer School of Chatillon-Sur-Seine and did bridge reconnaissance work, in course of which he developed fatal disease through influenza.
