Pilot of F-86E Sabrejet fighter bomber with 16th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 51st Fighter-Interceptor Group. While on combat mission March 9, 1953 his flight of 3 F-86s engaged 2 MiG-15s. Aircraft hit, crashed and burst into flames, remains never recovered. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
