Biography

Son of Wilbur C. and Pearl Helen Schofield Breunig. Brother of Edward and Robert L. Breunig. Member 368th Bomber Squadron, 306th Bomber Group, Heavy. Killed when B-17F "Bodacious Critter" was lost with 9 other aircraft during bombing mission on the Focks Wulf Plant in Bremen, Germany. Plane believed to have turned back towards enemy coast and crashed into sea. Awarded Purple Heart and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. Cenotaph at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge.
