On The Eve of Change, Remembering the 25th Anniversary of 9/11
Thursday, Sept. 10th
Seating will be limited so attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs
Join us for a special night of Honor and Remembrance as we remember not only who we were as a nation before the events of that fateful day, but the lives lost in the conflicts that followed.
The event will feature stories about the night before 9/11 in Denver as well as Jason Dahl, the United Airlines pilot of Flight 93, that crashed in Shanksville, PA. There will be a civilian flyover, a static display of photos from 9/11 and a piece of steel from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Representatives from the Aurora Fire Department together with Buckley Space Force Base firefighters will be reading the names of the more than 353 New York City firefighters who died on 9/11. Additionally, Colorado National Guard and Buckley Space Force Base service members will read the names of 118 Colorado veterans killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, following 9/11.
As part of the ceremony, there will be a bagpiper, the playing of Taps and tolling of the Honor Bell, in succession.
