Biography

Son of George B. Whitesell. Enlisted at Denver on November 24, 1916. Served as a collier aboard USS Cyclops. Ship lost at sea in the Bermuda Triangle on March 4, 1918 while carrying ore and 306 people including passengers and enlisted men in the largest non-hostile United States Navy loss in history.
