Pilot of OE-1 Cessna observation aircraft with Headquarters Battery, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division. While on artillery fire control mission aircraft was hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire, after which 2 parachutes were seen. Listed MIA and presumed dead December 16, 1953, remains never recovered. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 2 Gold Stars, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
