Pilot of Army medium bomber with 6-member crew nicknamed "Peck's Bad Boys". Died when bomber crashed a few minutes after takeoff at Baer Field near Fort Wayne, Indiana. Attended preliminary school in Stratton and Arvada and graduated Arvada High School. Attended Colorado State college at Fort Collins in 1939. Enlisted with Army with unit of Colorado National Guard in February 1941, transferred to air forces in November 1941. Earned wings at Mission Field, Texas, July 3, 1941. Commissioned as 1st Lieutenant on November 3, 1941. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer N. Peck, brother of George W. Peck and brother of bombardier serviceman James K. Peck.
