Son of Arthur and Hattie Kidd. Lived in Golden from 1933-1935 while agent for Prudential Insurance Company and conducting Happy Home Bakery route. In 1935 became Jewel Tea agent in Boulder and Colorado Springs until inducted into armed forces in April 1944. Trained at Camp Fannin, Texas and sent overseas in October 1944. Described by Colorado Transcript as "very well known in Golden and respected as a Christian leader of young people." Was a state officer of the Baptist Young People's Union and did much in organization and leadership of BYPU groups in First Baptist Church of Golden. Brother of Mildred Kidd of Golden and Hubert "Billy" Kidd of Denver City, Texas. Married and father of Richard and Jean Ann Kidd. Awarded Purple Heart, member of 318th Infantry Regiment of the 80th Infantry Division.
