Son of Esther & John Hobday. Survived by sister Joan, brother Richard and son Dane. Was tail gunner of B-29A Superfortress bomber with 371st Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Wing based at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa. On September 13, 1952 while making bombing run on Suiho Hydroelectric Plant his aircraft was hit by antiaircraft fire. Listed MIA and presumed dead February 28, 1954. Awarded Air Medal, Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and Republic of Korea War Service Medal. Memorial Service and Headstone placed at Arlington National Cemetery on July 23, 2009.
