Biography

Member United States Naval Reserve, VC 13. Great-grandson of Thomas H. Golden for whom the city of Golden was named. Only child of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Golden and relative of Denver residents Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Fenwick, Mr. and Mrs. John Golden, and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Newman; Pueblo residents Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Haennelt and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Golden; Golden resident Mrs. C.A. Rund, and Hotchkiss residents Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Larson and Charles Newman. Graduated Fresno State Teachers College with Bachelor of Arts degree, immediately after which he enlisted in the Naval Air Corps. Golden received his wings at Corpus Christi, Texas in 1942, was stationed on the west cost and transferred to east coast in 1943. His funeral Requiem Mass was at St. Catherine's church in Denver and burial with full military honors including 6 naval pallbearers at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
