Son of Thomas William and Annis A. Fowler. Brother of Don and Kenneth E. Fowler of Gering, Nebraska and Helen Fowler Strawhecker of Sacramento, California. Grandson of Nancy Whitesides of Bayard, Nebraska. Graduated from Bayard high school in 1924 and operated cafe there. Married Wiletta Baldwin of McCook, Nebraska in 1925. Enlisted June 1942. Trained at Fort Benning, Georgia and stationed there and at Camp Wolters, Texas and Fort Obinson, Little Rock, Arkansas. Sent overseas November 1944. Member motor maintenance branch of infantry.
