Lance Corporal Billy Floyd Clark arrived in Vietnam on March 24, 1968 where he served as a rifleman in Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in the An Hoa & "Arizona Territory" of I Corps. He was one of more than 700 marines known to have been killed while serving in the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines during the Vietnam War 1965-71. Nine marines and a Navy corpsman from Charlie Company were killed on December 14, 1968, including LCPL Billy Clark.
