Colorado Freedom Memorial Celebrates 5th Anniversary

The city of Aurora and the Colorado Freedom Memorial Foundation will celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Colorado Freedom Memorial at the annual Colorado Remembers event. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26 at the Colorado Freedom Memorial, 756 Telluride St.

The event will begins with a pancake breakfast, which will be free and open to the public but will accept voluntary contributions to benefit the Colorado Freedom Memorial Foundation.

The formal portion of the ceremony will include a heart-felt remembrance observance presented by the Colorado Freedom Memorial Foundation Founder Rick Crandall featuring musical performances by the Sound of the Rockies A Capella Men’s Chorus, will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Following the ceremony, attendees would be encouraged to pay tribute to the lives of Colorado military heroes honored on the memorial. Attendees will also be able to tour the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association Traveling Museum, enjoy music performances by The Beverly Belles Vintage Singing Trio and the America the Beautiful Men’s Barbershop Chorus and purchase food and drinks from the Jake and Joel’s BBQ food truck.

The event is free to the public and there will be plenty of lawn seating for guests who are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
